I wore a pair of “work pants” today that I haven’t worn in probably 5 years. Yeah, that felt good – until I sat down and then they were digging in to my waist. But the zipper worked so that’s a step ahead of yesterday’s game!
Early this morning a pop-up calendar reminder that the Disney Princess Half Marathon registration was opened jumped up on my screen. I stared at the pop-up for a minute before hitting “dismiss”. I’m already signed up for Tinker Bell Half Marathon (which is 94% full now so if you’re on the fence about registering, better hurry and decide!) in January 2013 so I didn’t bother to ask K if I could go ahead and register for Princess – I figured that would be pressing my luck!
Then I see this Tweet by runDisney!
Really!?! Are you kidding me?! It’s like they knew I’d hit “dismiss” on my reminder and then taunted me with “special medal” because they just know…because they’re somehow in my brain…that I am addicted to bling..and Disney! It’s true!! I love bling so much that M made me the bestest Christmas present this past year!
I love adding bling to it!!!
I told M about the runDisney Tweet and she likened it to someone waving drugs under the nose of a junkie – she totally gets me! She also totally gets that you combine 3 things I really love Disney, Races, and Bling and you have my full and complete attention! It’s so awesome when someone
enables gets you! *wink*
So then I whined on Facebook and Twitter that I really wanted to do this race and wah wah wah…
Here’s something you should know about me, if you don’t already, once I determine there’s a race I want to do…I have a very hard time convincing myself to not do it. I love races…I love bling…I love to run = It’s my drug!
And if that wasn’t exciting enough…
I got email confirmation today that I’ve been selected to be a FitFluential Ambassador!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I’m really, really excited about that.
So between the Princess Half Marathon registration, FitFluential Ambassador email notification, getting creamed at the Total Body Conditioning class (good news: I’m able to keep up with the class a lot more), and the 1 mile run using my jellified legs…I’m flippin’ wiped out!!!!
By the way, that’s 44 days of running, in case you’re not keeping count..I am!
One more thing before I go, I just wanna give a major shout out to my husband, K! He really is so amazing and has been so supportive of my running. I know I couldn’t have come this far without his encouragement and support and it really makes a big difference. I think any runner knows that it is so important to have a great support system. I have that in K and both of my kids. They’re awesome but K especially since he normally gives the green light when I set my sights on a race! I love you, babe! You’re amazing!
